STEAM Challenge: Soil Horizon Snack
Description
Grades K to 3. Learn about soil in a fun and interactive way by creating a soil horizon snack cup with Agriculture in the Classroom. Participants will also get a hands-on experience planting seeds.Additional Information
This program is part of the Agriculture Month programming.
Participants will use pudding, crushed cookies, gummy worms, shredded coconut, and chocolate chips to build a tasty edible model that represents different soil layers. They will also plant seeds to take home and observe as they grow, reinforcing their understanding of soil’s role in sustaining plant life.
Agriculture in the Classroom-SK is a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to agricultural education. Every year, it inspires more than 70,000 youth in Saskatchewan to gain a deeper understanding of and develop a stronger connection to the food production system, while also fostering their aspirations to potentially join the industry in the future.
